Growing up on the Torridge Estuary in North Devon, Chris watched his artist father paint historic planes, trains and boats. Although having lived in an area with a long legacy of traditional boatbuilding and sailing vessels, it was a borrowed Mirror Dinghy that was the catalyst for getting into sailing. Time spent sailing aboard a friends 19ft Gaff Cutter gave Chris a real appreciation for classic wooden boats.
This love of sailing and traditional boats led Chris away from Devon to the Falmouth Marine school. After completing Marine School, Chris accepted an apprenticeship with Butler and Co Traditional Wooden Boats at their Penpol yard. Chris continued to work with Butler and Co until starting his own business.
Chris is currently based on the North Coast of Cornwall in the village of Kehelland but can undertake work all over.
